Tim Rumph, founder and president of Araiys Design, has a longstanding appreciation and passion for creative design and a comprehensive knowledge of regulatory, environmental, and zoning matters.

With more than 40 years of experience, Tim has managed projects through state, county and local governmental approval processes. He has also worked as a consultant to numerous municipalities.

Tim received his formal training at Rutgers University. He continually builds on his knowledge through industry-related education.
Steven G. Nieroda, RLA, ASLASenior Associate

Steve Nieroda is a registered landscape architect with over sixteen years of experience in landscape design and construction. His diverse portfolio of work includes designs for universities, public libraries, multi-family residential developments, athletic fields, commercial, and residential sites. Steve earned a Master's Degree in Landscape Architecture from the University of Oklahoma where he received ASLA honors from the OKASLA for his graduation thesis on the remediation of an Oklahoma City Superfund Site.

Since returning to his native Long Island in 2005, his work experience has grown to include the application of Low Impact Design strategies for communities on Long Island and within NYC. Recently, Steve has worked on progressive stormwater design projects in Queens that are helping to redefine the urban environment and reduce stormwater runoff into surrounding waterways. Steve is inspired by an integrative design process that provides clients with thoughtful and sustainable solutions that meet and exceed project objectives. He lives with his wife and two children in Rocky Point. In his spare time, Steve enjoys hiking and camping with his family and exploring the beautiful terrain of the northeast.
Grant Wellman, RLA, ASLAChief Landscape Architect

Grant Wellman joined Araiys Design in the fall of 2017 and brings to the firm a unique understanding of the site design process and modern technologies used in Landscape Architecture. Grant has worked on the East End for the last seven years managing numerous projects with a concentration on large scale residential projects. Prior to his experience in New York, Grant worked for an ASLA award winning firm in Florida and has experience on several projects throughout the Caribbean.

As an alumni of the University of Florida, Grant holds a bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture and minor in Horticulture. He is a Registered Landscape Architect in New York and a LEED Accredited Professional with team experience on LEED Platinum projects. Grant lives in East Quogue with his wife and two children. As an avid kayaker, he has explored the wilderness of Florida and the East End.

Daria Szalinkska, a native of Poland, holds a Bachelors Degree and a Masters Degree in Landscape Architecture from the Warsaw University of Life Science. Daria already had an impressive horticulture background before becoming a Landscape Architect so along with her extensive plant knowledge; she is the perfect addition to the Araiys Design team as she creates amazing outdoor spaces and breathtaking landscape designs with a wide range of vegetation.

Rebecca Brown grew up on the East End of Long Island where she spent many years working in the Horticulture Industry, gaining a widespread knowledge of the local plant ecology, before relocating to the central coast of California. While in California, she studied Landscape Architecture at California Polytechnic State University and started her career and built design work experience in the field of Landscape Architecture.  Rebecca describes herself as “a bit of plant geek” whom loves to learn and apply unique flora throughout the diverse ecology of the North and South Forks of Long Island. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her son, dog and family on the beautiful beaches of the East End. 

Esvin A. SecaidaJunior Landscape Architect

Esvin Secaida, graduated from SUNY ESF with a Bachelors Degree in Landscape Architecture in 2015. Prior to working with Araiys Design, Esvin has experience working for a Landscape Architect firm as well as working as a mason, landscaper and construction worker. The combination of his hands on experiences along with his degree in Landscape Architecture has helped him in his understanding of the design process.

Esvin has an extensive knowledge of computer rending software; including computer aided design and adobe suites, as well as 3D programs such as Google Sketch Up. These skills allow him to better illustrate and convey the concept of a design solution.

Yi Yang holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Landscape Architecture from China where she began her interest and journey of studying landscape design. It was the great passion for the landscape design field that made Yi decided to study abroad and come to earn a Masters Degree in Landscape Architecture from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.

Over the years, Yi has committed herself to the pursuit of landscape design knowledge from multiple academic works. She has also developed professional skills from the experience of internships and teaching assistantships. Her knowledge of landscape design fundamentals, proficiency in multiple digital software, and commitment to the design process from initial schematic design to final construction documents is an asset for Araiys Design and all the clients we serve.
