Steve Nieroda is a registered landscape architect with over twenty years of experience in landscape design and construction. His diverse portfolio of work includes designs for universities, public libraries, multi-family residential developments, athletic fields, commercial, and residential sites. Steve earned a Master's Degree in Landscape Architecture from the University of Oklahoma where he received ASLA honors from the OKASLA for his graduation thesis on the remediation of an Oklahoma City Superfund Site.
Since returning to his native Long Island in 2005, his work experience has grown to include the application of Low Impact Design strategies for communities on Long Island and within NYC. Recently, Steve has worked on progressive stormwater design projects in Queens that are helping to redefine the urban environment and reduce stormwater runoff into surrounding waterways. Steve is inspired by an integrative design process that provides clients with thoughtful and sustainable solutions that meet and exceed project objectives. He lives with his wife and two children in Riverhead. In his spare time, Steve enjoys hiking and camping with his family and exploring the beautiful terrain of the northeast.
Tim Rumph, founder of Araiys Design, has a longstanding appreciation and passion for creative design and a comprehensive knowledge of regulatory, environmental, and zoning matters.
With more than 40 years of experience, Tim has managed projects through state, county and local governmental approval processes. He has also worked as a consultant to numerous municipalities.
Tim received his formal training at Rutgers University. He continually builds on his knowledge through industry-related education.
Daria Szalinkska, a native of Poland, holds a Bachelors Degree and a Masters Degree in Landscape Architecture from the Warsaw University of Life Science. Daria has an widespread horticulture background from her native Poland as well from working in the field on the East End of Long Island before becoming a Landscape Architect with Araiys Design. Along with her extensive plant knowledge, passion for design and for the outdoors; she is the perfect addition to the Araiys Design team as she creates amazing outdoor spaces and breathtaking landscape designs.
Gabriella Verderber, a Long Island Native, holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Landscape Architecture from the University of Rhode Island and an Associate’s Degree in Horticulture from Farmingdale State College. Gabriella’s love for Horticulture stems far beyond her education as she has worked in the field at garden centers and plant nurseries across Long Island for many years. Her passion for horticulture drove her to seek more from the profession leading her to pursue a degree in Landscape Architecture. Upon graduation, she then went to work for firms across Long Island in pursuit of licensure. With her vast design experience ranging from sports fields and large community developments to arboretums and residential design, she will be a great asset to the Araiys Design team.
Amanda Jones Schiraldi , a Long Island native, holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Landscape Architecture from The Pennsylvania State University. During her time at Penn State, she studied architecture/landscape architecture in Barcelona, Spain at the Barcelona Architecture Center. Upon graduation, Amanda has continued to work for landscape architecture firms within the East End of Long Island and as a construction manager for General Contractors in Nassau County in pursuit of licensure. As a construction manager, she was responsible for managing multi-million dollar commercial projects. Her combination of knowledge of landscape architecture and construction management has helped drive her success in and out of the field.
Anir Dighe, a native of India, holds a Bachelor's Degree in Architecture from Pune University. His passion and interest in fusing and incorporating the built environment into natural environments and contrariwise made him pursue a Master's Degree in Landscape Architecture from the Boston Architectural College where he received an American Society of Landscape Architects Merit Award and an Excellence in Thesis Award. Anir draws inspiration from his Indian heritage and the cultural landscapes around which he grew up. His professional experience in Architecture and Landscape Architecture makes him a great addition to the Araiys Design team.
George Flanagan, a Southampton local, graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Cultural and Historic Preservation from Salve Regina University in 2019. During his time at school, he studied various design elements of Newport, where he helped research and preserve historic landscape designs of some of the historic mansion homes using historical records and photos, as well as some radar techniques. Growing up in Water Mill and working with a local real estate legal firm, George has also come to understand and appreciate the variety of architectural elements and the landscapes that unify them.
